Dalmatian Wine Tour

Arrival in Split. Private transfer from the airport to the city. Guided sightseeing tour of Split, including Diocletian’s Palace, Peristil and Cathedral. Later, departure by ferry from Split to the island of Hvar (Stari Grad harbour). Hvar Island is famous for its endless lavender fields and vineyards. It is also the sunniest part of Croatia with over 2700 hours of sunshine throughout the year.

Arrive at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, a full day guided private excursion around the island including small, picturesque island villages and wine cellars (wine tasting). Afternoon tour of Hvar town – island’s main place. The town of Hvar will enchant you with its relaxed atmosphere, grand palaces, churches, monastery and cathedral, charming narrow streets, beautiful seaside promenade and the oldest urban theatre in Europe which still runs annual repertoire. Hvar has a reputation of being famous tourist resort for now a whole century.

Embark ferry to Korčula – said to be the birthplace of Marco Polo, a famous seafarer, explorer and adventurer. Arrive at the hotel. Upon arrival we’ll explore the town of Korčula with its well-preserved town walls from the 13th century and a beautiful cathedral of St. Mark – the most important edifice in Korčula.

Full day excursion around the island of Korčula. Visit Lumbarda, known for its top-quality white wine called Grk (the Greek) made from the autochthonous vine sort grk bijeli (Greek white). A visit to the wine cellar includes tasting of this delicious dessert white wine. Then we head on through the central part of the island, all the way to the town of Blato. We will visit the winery Šain-Marelić in Čara including tasting of some highly esteemed white wines like Pošip and Rukatac – indigenous sorts on the island and among the first Croatian wines of the controlled origin. Return to the town of Korčula.

After breakfast, transfer to the town of Orebič on the Pelješac peninsula. The sunny climate ensures perfect conditions for the vine-growers on the peninsula. The picturesque hillsides and valleys of Pelješac are covered in vineyards. The most famous wines produced in this region are Dingač and Postup. Continue drive to Ston, a well-known oyster-growing capital in Croatia for an oyster tasting boat tour.

Continue to Dubrovnik. Arrive at the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Morning private guided tour of Dubrovnik, a city-monument under UNESCO’s protection. Tour includes a visit to the Franciscan monastery, Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. Afternoon at leisure for enjoying the magnificent and romantic Dubrovnik.

After breakfast, we continue our journey along Makarska riviera towards Split. Upon arrival in Split, free time for exploring Split by your own, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
