Istrian Delights
Overview
ISTRIA – largest Croatian peninsula, unique and remarkable in rather small area of 2.820km2, offers so much variety – from snow whiteness of nearby mountains, green fields, ledges and dales, wavy landscapes covered with vineyards and olive groves, to the blueness of an endless sea.
Natural beauties and wealth of Istria are divided to its blue and green parts. BLUE ISTRIA – part of Istrian peninsula connected by its coast to the Adriatic sea. It is a region in which natural maritime beauties, with help of generations of inhabitants located here form the ancient ages, have built and shaped romantic and picturesque towns located by the sea – such as ROVINJ, POREC, UMAG and PULA as the largest city of Istrian peninsula and Istrian administrative center.
GREEN ISTRIA – part of Istrian peninsula representing the green oasis, distanced from the Blue Istria only few steps toward the inland. Here, on picturesque hills proud with old and walled small towns, one can experience all the magic of rural idyll. Surrounded by nature, tasting homemade Istrian specialties in one of many agritourism’s, will satisfy the needs and senses of the most demanding tourists.

Itinerary
Arrival to Poreč. Accommodation in hotel. Free time at leisure for personal arrangements. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
POREČ – a town located in a harbour protected by the sea by a small island St. Nicolas, today represents one of the most significant Istrian, and Croatian, tourist centres. It was developed and created by the Romans 2000 years ago after winning it over from the first citizens – Histrians.
Roman heritage in Poreč is evident even today in the old town centre – the position of two main streets Decumanus and Cardo Maximus represents typical roman castrum preserved in its ancient form.
The most important sight in Poreč, on the other hand, has been made by the Byzant – complex of Eufrasius Bazilica with diocese from 5th century. UNESCO has protected and listed this valuable monument to the World Heritage List in 1997.
