Opatija has been a “spa“ town, offering rest and recreation to its innumerable visitors. With all the sun-drenched pleasures of a European resort town, its grand villas, subtropical botanical gardens, old-style grand hotels, wide boulevards, and busy marinas, it has attracted Europeans since the 1840s with almost religious fervor. They were drawn to it mostly for its crystal-clear sea and the Mediterranean blue of the endless sky.

Breakfast at the hotel followed by a full day excursion to the Istrian Peninsula. As soon as we exit the tunnel through Učka Mountain, one will recognize why Istrian Peninsula is usually called The Small Tuscany. Numerous hills covered with vineyards and olive trees, topped with picturesque small towns dominate the entire panorama. The first stop will be done in medieval hilltop town of Motovun rising over the Mirna River valley. Following the scenic route to the seaside and passing the town of Grožnjan, we will reach Poreč and visit one of the most famous religious monuments. Lunch in restaurant in Motovun.

The final stop before return to Opatija will be a walking tour of Rovinj. Return to hotel and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, departure towards Zagreb. Welcome to Zagreb, the capital of the Republic of Croatia. Zagreb is an old Central European city. For centuries it has been a focal point of culture and science, and now of commerce and industry as well. It lies on the intersection of important routes between the Adriatic coast and Central Europe. Zagreb can offer its visitors the Baroque atmosphere of the Upper Town, picturesque open-air markets, diverse shopping facilities, an abundant selection of crafts and a choice vernacular cuisine. After breakfast, meeting with guide at the reception of hotel and departure for full day excursion to Varaždin. What distinguishes Varaždin from other Croatian cities is the extraordinarily rich monumental and artistic heritage that is contained within its beautifully preserved Historic Core. Within the relatively small area of the Old Town are preserved palaces, important public buildings, Baroque, Rococo, Classicist and Secessionist houses and villas and one of the oldest City Halls in Europe. Visit Castle Trakoščan and Etno village Kumrovec. Have a lunch in local restaurant Grešna Gorica.

Return to Zagreb and overnight in hotel in Zagreb.

After breakfast and some free time, we head towards the Plitvice Lakes National Park. This beautiful natural lake complex was registered on UNESCO’s List of World Natural Heritage in 1979 and comprises a string of 16 turquoise-coloured lakes linked by 92 waterfalls and cascades surrounded by dense wooded mountains and lush vegetation. The Plitvice Lakes are often entitled as one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Free time for exploring the surroundings, enjoying fresh air and incredibly green vegetation, accommodating in the hotel and overnight at Plitvice.

In the morning, after breakfast, take a tour through the lakes. Meeting point at the reception with English speaking guide. Embraced by high wooded mountains, one beneath another lie sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water. Connected to each other by a series of foaming cascades and thundering waterfalls, the lakes are fed by many rivers and streams. Plitvice Lakes were declared a National Park in 1949, and since 1979 they have been on UNESCO’s list of World Natural Heritage.

Morning depart to Zadar. Arrival at hotel, accommodation and time for refreshment. After break meeting with guide at the reception who will take you on a tour of Zadar including the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, considered to be the most impressive basilica in Dalmatia, church of Saint Donat and the ruins of Roman Forum. Free time for dinner in the city centre.

Breakfast and transfer to the meeting point for a full day boat excursion to Kornati National Park. In the central part of Croatian Adriatic Sea, there is an amazing group of islands called Kornati archipelago. The exceptional beauty of the archipelago made authorities in 1980 to proclaim a large part of the area as a national park. There are 147 islands, islets and reefs within the area of Kornati National Park (36km in length and 6 km wide), making it the most indented group of islands in the Mediterranean. Return and overnight in Zadar.

In the morning after breakfast depart to Split with stop in Šibenik. Meeting with local guide and tour of this charming city. Šibenik is the oldest Croatian and Slavic city on the Adriatic with a famous Cathedral of St. James. After city tour lunch in restaurant included.

Proceed drive to Split. Overnight in Split hotel.

Your guide will meet you in hotel after breakfast. Split is the largest and most important town in Dalmatia. Walking tour of historical centre and remains of Diocletian's Palace (UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979), built between the late 3rd and the early 4th century A.D. The cathedral was built in the Middle Ages, reusing materials from the ancient mausoleum. Romanesque churches, medieval fortifications, 15th -century Gothic palaces and other palaces in Renaissance and Baroque style make up the rest of the protected area.

Afternoon is reserved for visit to Trogir, a town museum. Lovers of cultural and historical monuments, art, architecture and nice alleys are given the opportunity to learn about manifold and complex heritage – from Romanesque yard to the modern interiors. The unique historical core, Radovan’s portal, has been arousing excitement among visitors and travellers for centuries.

After breakfast meeting with guide and departure to ferry for Hvar. Departure from the Split port for a ferry boat transfer at 11.00 hours to the town of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar. A short walking tour of Stari Grad Plain (UNESCO World Heritage List since 2009), a cultural landscape that has remained practically intact since it was first colonized by Ionian Greeks from Pharos in the 4th century BC.

Return to Split with a ferry at 17.30 hours in the afternoon. Overnight in hotel in Split hotel.

After breakfast depart to Dubrovnik. On route visit Međugorje, famous pilgrimage centre. Proceed to Dubrovnik. Upon arrival free time for your own arrangements.

Full day in Dubrovnik with city tour in the morning. After breakfast meeting with the guide at reception of hotel. The walls of Dubrovnik girdle a perfectly preserved complex of public and private, sacral and secular buildings representing all periods of the city’s history, beginning with its founding in the 7th century. Visit Dubrovnik highlights: city’s main street, Stradun, the Rector’s Palace, the church of St. Vlaho, the Cathedral, three large monasteries, and the City Hall. The Republic of Dubrovnik was the centre of a separate political and territorial entity, and was proud of its culture, achievements in commerce and especially of its freedom, preserved down so many tempestuous centuries.

It is said that explorers before him had changed the geography of the world – but Marco Polo changed its history! And the island of Korčula is his hometown! The island indisputably holds a privileged position among the Croatian islands. Experience the narrow streets, beautiful churches and magnificent palaces in one of the best-preserved Medieval towns in the Mediterranean. After sightseeing free time for lunch or even swimming. On the return trip a stop will be made in one of the well-known wine cellars of the Pelješac peninsula to sample some of the prestigious local wines (included).
