Croatia –
The Sense of Place
Croatia – The Sense of Place
A small group journey for travelers from Australia and New Zealand who want to experience Croatia through its people, food and culture – at a slower, more considered pace.
Hosted personally by Davor Milosevic
This is not about seeing Croatia as most tourists do. It’s about being invited into it.
- Sitting at the table with a local family
- Talking directly to the people behind the food and wine
- Spending time in places you wouldn’t find on your own
You don’t move through places quickly – you spend time in them.
What this Journey is
This journey wasn’t built from catalogues.
It comes from years of working on the ground in Croatia – building relationships with the people who shape its food, wine and culture.
Because of that, it’s structured differently from a typical itinerary:
- We travel at a considered pace
- We don’t try to see everything
- We focus on experiencing each place properly
What it actually feels like
A morning with truffle hunters in Istria
Followed by a lunch built entirely around what you’ve just found.
An evening in a local home
Not a restaurant – but a shared table, stories and conversation.
Time with winemakers
Tasting wines together while hearing about the soil, the craft and the realities behind it.
Wine aged under the Adriatic Sea
A rare tasting, and a conversation about a process few people ever encounter.
Oysters and champagne in Ston
Fresh from the sea, enjoyed where they’re grown.
A quieter island experience
Away from the crowds and regular routes – where Croatia feels as it should

Croatia remains one of the safest regions in Europe, geographically distant from current global tensions. We also understand that planning long-haul travel requires confidence. For that reason, we keep things simple:
- Flexible options for future departures if plans change
- Direct personal support before and during the journey
- Small group format for a more controlled and comfortable experience

History, everyday coastal life, and traditional meals shaped by land and time.
